I want some advice (preferrably AMD fan-boy advice) on a new GPU, I currently have a HD5850 1GB and was thinking of getting a
HD6970 2GB in the near future, id imagine that the big number makes it the best one EVAR!

The best value for money - to - power ratio gfx card is the Nvidia 570. ( only slightly more than the 6970 )
Its slightly more powerful than the 6970.

I will be getting one of these.

i'll be getting a 6990 closer to BF3...

Well, its either a 6970 or a 6990 pretty much 399$ Versus 900$-1100$

Or I go back to Nvidia, and get a 570/590 (But since most of the good games coming are sponsored by ATi, i wont. EVEN)

By the time BF3 comes out, the 6990 will be around 700$ which is more affordable.

For a temporary upgrade, why don't you get another 5850? Shove them in Crossfire?

Because another GPU of this sort, would generate too much heat, and cost more money with electricity and a new motherboard, and possibly a new case

As opposed to getting a HD6970 which is coolers more efficient and has 2GB V-RAM its a smarter choice D:

Aswell, why bother with a temporary fix? my framerate never deviates below 40fps...i just want it to be 60frames solid on all games.

+ by Bf3's time the 6970 will cost alot less, so i might aswell just get a 6970, so i have room for any problems with other bits

+ 6990 needs liquid cooling... i dont even.

U could buy about two xboxs for that

Xbox360 & PS3's are not going to be replaced until 2015. PC components are always being upgraded etc for better performance and so on.

All the game designers etc are starting to make more games for PC than console because they have used up what they can with the consoles and can't go any further other than game content.
